My Heart is Broken ( Evanescence )
Evanescence Concert 2012 KL Live
This is my first rock concert, so please bear with me! Almost everyone turned up in black. Either everyone was goth, or they just wanted to celebrate the essence of the band ;)
Waiting in line was agony. There were several goth caucasians standing in line in front of me. It wasn’t their attires or make up that distressed me. It was their bad habits! First, they started smoking (the smoke somehow always ends up in my face no matter where I stand thanks to the wind!) If that wasn’t already bad enough, they started on some drugs they smuggled in their cargo pants and then drank their booze. Thank goodness we ended up in totally different places once we entered.
Extremely happy I got the upper tier. Not sure if anyone at the free standing area could even see the stage! Had a local DJ entertain us for an hour and a half. We definitely had a ROCKING crowd! Nothing but heavy metal music and an occasional Coldplay remixed songs.
DJ: Do you guys want Pitbull?
Crowd: BOOOOO! (Thumbs down)
DJ: How about Britney Spears?
Crowd: BOOOOO! (MIDDLE FINGERS)
DJ: Hey, she’s one of my favs! *start playing a heavy metal version of TOXIC*
Crowd: *CHEERS*
Hahahaha. Whattacrowd! Love a great head banging audience! Singing (or screaming) to the songs definitely helped pass the time.
Everyone just could not wait for Amy to appear. You could feel the anticipation in the air! And of course when the band came out everyone just went bonkers. Great entrance might I say. It was so bloody loud, but totally worth it. Seeing the band play live was nothing short of amazing. The drummer did a lot of cool tricks and so did the guitarists. But you can totally tell that the crowd favourite was definitely Amy. Especially when she started playing the piano and keyboards.
Of course they performed a lot of songs especially from their 3 last albums and a lot of crowd pleasers. Starting off with ’Made of Stone’ and ending with ‘My Immortal’. However, it still felt so short somehow! It definitely can’t be easy performing her kind of songs for 2 hours continuously.
I managed to get a limited version of their latest album and a free poster :)
Definitely an unforgettable night.
Definitely an unforgetable night!
I can’t believe what a terrible fan I am.
First of all, I KNEW Evanescence was having a world tour, but I was so convinced that she’d never come to Malaysia I didn’t even bother checking the tour locations. I had to find out 2 weeks before her appearance in KL through the StarTwo newspapers (which I would have missed reading if not for the fact that she was featured on the front page.) Thank GOD.
How ridiculous it is that I see her tour updates on twitter and tumblr almost everyday, and I can almost miss such an important event such as this! I can’t even begin to imagine how I’d feel if I suddenly saw her tweeting about her excitement performing in Malaysia or see her entertaining her fans right here, right at that very moment while my ass was glued on the couch reading this on my laptop. I’d just die right there.
When I went to check out the ticket prices, I realised how unlucky I was that I missed the early bird discount (20%)! GAH. It lasted for a month! And I was only a few days late… I could cry! Thank the Lord that my mum agreed to let me go AND buy the JS Zone tickets. Would have been awesome if we got the Rock Zone which was nearest to the stage, but it was far too expensive. I’m fine with upper tier (:
I still can’t believe this! AMY LEE IS COMING TO MALAYSIA. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
I’ve been waiting for her since her Fallen album. And when the band broke up in 2007, I thought her chances of her performing in M’sia dissapeared forever. This.is.a.dream.come.true.
Can’t wait to see her live!
